Domestic migrant workers who say they want to go home instead of being sent to Malaysia are seen at an SKMM Investment Group training centre where they were being held against their will in Russey Keo district, Phnom Penh, October 19, 2011. The recruitment firm, which sends Cambodian maids to Malaysia for placement, was raided the following day. More than 70 women, including a number of underage girls, were freed from the company’s three training centers in Phnom Penh. According to Cambodian law, domestic workers must be at least 21 years of age to travel to Malaysia to work as maids, however some of the recruits who were as young as 15 and 16 and stated that the company had falsified travel documents to bypass the rules.
